Here I am again with a few good examples of adventure games made by the indie developers. I guess I will be having three-four indie games that I found out recently or in the past and showing them off. Now this week we have three games that raised their funds on Kickstarter which is a website really beneficial for our favourite genre. Lots of adventure games are being developed thanks to the site and its community. What we have to do as gamers or developers is giving the support for the projects which really deserve to get on the market. More we support, more games are developed. Now let's see what we have here.

Jason The Greek
I was never a fan of vector-like graphics and animations in games, it always made games look cheap in my opinion but this opinion is about to change. If you have same kind of prejudice, have a look at Jason The Greek. It is a point and click adventure game developed by one man, Kristian Fosh who is a fan of classic adventure games such as Monkey Island as he states himself in the introduction video. After watching the video I understood that my worries were pointless because animations are beautiful eventhough they are limited. It is absolutely normal if you think that the whole game is being made by only one person.

Kristian also provides us with a well designed website here and you can get more into detail with development of the game by checking out the character sketches, blog and so on. There is also a playable demo for PC that you can download on the home page.

Game tells a story about an over-confident man named Jason living in Ancient Greece who set sails to find a treasure named Golden Fleece with his ship The Argo. The short story does not tell much about the cool stuff hidden in encounters. Something really different about the game is that there is no item names shown on the screen and you have to figure it out if there is a thing to interact or not. I do not know if it is a good thing or not for now. There were some small bugs and it crashed a few times as expected from an early demo but it was enough to tell about what to expect from Jason.

Overall, I liked the game. It deserves the amount of money funded on Kickstarter. Awaiting for the final version and I really hope Kristian has plans to create a development team to enhance game features such as graphics, animations and interactivity for future titles.

The Slaughter
Another kickstarter title brings back a classic type of a point and click adventure, a noir detective story to make us smile. The Slaughter is developed by Alexander Francois and his not existing crew. It is another game which looks awesome and developed by only one person. I do not know about you but I am a big pixel fan, I adore old style games and I guess Alexander has the same kind of taste since he mentions LucasArts and Revolution Studios while describing the style of the game. It looks like the game takes atmosphere as its main aspect, using dramatic moments and music, gives this chill breeze of Victorian London.

There is a blog of Alexander's game studio here and it seems like game is available to pre-order already. There is a demo of the game if you want to try further. It almost feels like my childhood but adds more onto that. Animations are not the best maybe but  forgivable for a one person work. I wished I could already have the real game.

The main character of the game is a private investigator, Sydney Emerson and he is having a psychologically harsh period of time in his life. Since this is more or less a detective story, there is also a serial killer with an unknown identity. I suppose rest of the content waits for us in the final game. From what I see on the introduction video we should expect psychological, dramatic, very depressive game moments. Another good thing to know about the game is that Alexander uses a gameplay system which is really close to the ones we are familiar with from Broken Sword or Monkey Island series.

Read Only Memories
The third and the last game for this week is coming for cyberpunk lovers. I never favored cyberpunk concept myself but would not hesitate to give it a shot for the sake of this beautifully made game. It is made by a team this time, GaymerX and they have a gamers society called Gaymer Connect. It looks awesome what they did with their site and events, you can check it right here.

The game has an original style unlike first two examples. It is made as a tribute to 90s adventure games. You can observe it clearly in the gameplay video. It looks like most vital part of the game is conversations but this is just a guess according to the video. It has very static looking graphics and animations at the moment that I am curious myself how it will look like when it is out. Since there is not a website only for the game you can check Kickstarter page here to learn more.

Game takes place in Neo-San Francisco in 2064. There is a new technology called ROM and the player character starts with a beta version of this technology that contains a secret message left behind by a friend. Developers say that it is a trust/not trust game with a lot of mysteries. If these are not enough for you to get interested in this pixel shiny game, I am afraid you will have to wait for more updates till July 2014.
